Tim Henty

British conductor Timothy Henty has developed a strong international reputation both in the theatre and on the concert platform. Born in Kent, Timothy Henty won a Foundation Scholarship to the Royal College of Music, where he studied with Neil Thomson and won the Tagore Gold Medal: the RCM’s highest award for its most outstanding student, presented to him by HRH The Prince of Wales. His career started as a guest conductor at the Royal Ballet and he has since conducted many orchestras in the UK and abroad. He has worked closely with ENO and others on Gilbert & Sullivan and has conducted many commercial and light music events and recordings. He conducts live screening concerts of film music all around the world, including many screenings of the Harry Potter franchise. He has been a regular conductor of LRO rehearsals over more than a decade.
